Parenting Partners

Every parent has questions and can use someone to ask or listen…

It takes a village to raise a Child, and I am here to help.

HI, I’m Ryan Adam, an Occupational Therapist with 30 years experience in a hospital based pediatrics setting, working with both normal development as well as special needs. I also have experience as a parent and a proud grandparent

Coming from a Children’s hospital based, as well as a school based setting, I have experience both with typical child development, as well as special needs of all kinds. I am a feeding specialist with both picky / difficult eaters, as well as problems with swallowing or dysphagia. I also have advanced practice certification in hand rehabilitation and fine motor skill development, including handwriting remediation. I have also specialized in sensory based development, including sensory processing and sensory regulation disorders, which most affect behavioral and attention issues in children, often affecting the school settings.

Would you like to...

ask parenting questions of someone other than a relative or professional with limited time

read what a child is trying to communicate with behavior

Understand how to foster cooperation and enthusiasm?

understand the effects of trauma and how to work to heal hurt relationships or feelings?

foster better eating habits or flexibility around foods?

foster creativity and internal motivation?

have a more harmonious and workable household

You don’t have to wait to ask your questions.

getting help from professionals can be difficult in negotiating the referral process, as well as feeling like there is enough time to ask questions and discuss the things that are important to you. While I certainly don’t have all the answers, I can provide some knowledge and considerations from many courses and experiences with families over the last 30 years.

Children are always honest, and they communicate through their behavior. I strive to help parents understand what their child might be trying to tell them or what their needs are through those challenging behaviors to bring everyone closer.
